How To Prepare

What To Wear

For photos, block colours work best, so please try to avoid any patterns or logos which will distract from your lovely self. Incorporate block colours that suit you – colour tends to work well with photography and ‘pop’ which will make the images more interesting. Please email photos of the outfits you plan to wear for the photoshoot to the agency as soon as possible: portfolios@victoriasmodels.com.au They will either confirm your choices or make suggestions.

Props

I encourage you bring along one prop to incorporate into your photoshoot. It may be included in just a few of the photos to add another element of interest. It can be something that is unique to you, or just something you think might look good in the photos. For example, I love photography, so I would bring a camera. Let me know in advance what you plan to bring, and feel free to send me a photo of it. Here are a few more ideas:

Cushions

Vintage bicycle

Food

Artwork

Books

Balloons

Vision board

Bouquet of flowers

Fitness equipment

Confetti

Party hats

Stationary

Roller skates

Car

Instrument

Sunglasses

Hat

Flower crown

Locations

Once you have sent and confirmed your outfits with the agency, they will forward your choices on to me. I will then let you know the locations for your photoshoot based on your outfits.

Hair & Makeup

The agency will book and confirm the details for your hair and makeup prior to your photoshoot.

Timings

Please allow one hour per ‘Look’ for your photoshoot. If you have three looks, your photoshoot will go for approx. 3 hours. Please note this is excluding time for hair and makeup. It is best to leave the whole day free for your photoshoot experience.

Transport

You will need your own transport to travel between locations for the day. Please make any necessary arrangements in advance.

What To Bring

Outfits

Accessories

Shoes

Hairbrush

Prop

Water

Entourage

You are most welcome to bring along a friend or family member on the day to assist you and provide emotional support. They can also take some behind-the scenes photos and videos for the agency.

Wardrobe Changes

Please arrive to your photoshoot location dressed wearing your first outfit. You can then change into your next outfit on location at the nearest public bathroom, or if you prefer (or if there are no bathrooms nearby) I will have a portable pop-up change tent that you can use.

Photo Delivery

The most exciting part of the process is the chance for you to view the photos from your session and put them to good use! Within 10 business days after your session you will receive a link to your online gallery. From here you can view, download and use your photos however you like.

I will also send your photos to the agency. From here they will choose the best photos from the collection to go up on their website. You will then start getting regular job offers from the agency.

If you have any questions at all about your Model Portfolio process, please feel free to reach out to either myself or the agency for clarification. We are here to help :)
